Ar. Poonam Sardesai graduated from the Design Research Lab at The Architectural Association’s School of Architecture, London in 2011. Her thesis project dealt with form-finding through scaffold-less techniques, employing vacuum as the primary means of exploration.
Poonam has graduated with a distinction from BKPS College of Architecture, Pune and interned with Archgroup Consultants, Dubai. She has worked on the designing of bus shelters for the BRTS, Pune in the year 2007.
Since post-graduation, she has worked with the firm Archimedia, Pune and co-founded her own practice under the name of OHA Studios with her husband. The practice primarily deals in Architecture, Interiors & Product design. The firm’s work has been published in the A&i Digest 2016.
Poonam has been closely associated with academics having taught at BNCA’S Masters in Digital Architecture & conducted material & fabrication based workshops in MIDAS, Chennai. She heads the BNCA’S Fabrication Facility – BNCA’S FABLAB | Pune and is a tutor at the program. Her interest lies in contextualizing materials & fabrication tools to the Indian scenario working towards an integrated,inclusive & holistic approach in the realm of Parametric Architecture.
