Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samsthas Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati college of architecture's International cell- department headed by Prof Shruti Joshi had recently invited cybertech James Law to interact with the students and address the large crowd of professionals under Late Shri Adwait Badwe Lecture series.

The ever growing population, rapid urbanization and over utilization of natural resources has made challenging circumstance in the world. "The Cybertecture based on energy saving, recycling of water, Sky gardens and use of solar energy and energy made out of waste principles play very important role in the future building industry" Said World renowned architect James Law in a presentation on "Planetary cyber texture" Renowned architecture Prof V.V.Badwe, Principal Dr.Anurag Kashyap, MKSSS Officials and Ar.Shruti Joshi were present on this occasion.

Cybertecture is a revolutionary concept that provides a symbolic relationship between the urban fabric and technology. It forges both hardware of built environment and software system and technologies from micro to macro scales of development.

The genesis of cybertecture is in response to mans progress into 21st century, where working and living environments need to adapt and evolve to cope with the demands of modern working life. It plays an integral part in this evolution by providing awarness and connectivity via seamless integration of technology into fabric of space.

Cybertecture designs with the help of technology all the systems, buildings and masterplans , that allow flexibility and accessibility to inform, adapt and react to its environment making it sustainable.

This form of architecture addresses the classes and has yet to reach to the masses.

James Law said he was fascinated of Building structures and technology, making robots and building computers from the age of seven. He was inspired by the great work of  eight personalities both fictional and live. His fascination with electronics led to some inventions. The Health Mirror invented by his company shows and records one's medical status.

James Law advices the students to follow the new ideas with an open frame of mind and gives stress on the fact that experience and creativity as a response to the social and physical context cannot be replaced by the machine. Technical skills are to be used as tools to future sight and learn the art of team work for their bright career in this field.

Dr.Anurag Kashyap said James Law has agreed to design a first Cybertexture building in a College campus. He has been nominated as a chairman of Advisory committee  of the college.  A new Fab Lab of making a model from the design will be installing soon in the college. Introduction

Shri Kanvinde occupied a unique position in the history of contempory Indian architecture.

A legendary, rare personality who offered a lot to architecture taking too little in return.

Graduated from Howard he innovatively blended technology and aesthetics.

A committed modernist, as he was, always desired of taking Indian architecture to be global and to the height of international style. He created architecture with timeless in character and with his urge for eternal search for innovations. He was the pioneer and master of modern architecture in india.

Shri Kanvinde and his partner Late Shri Shaukat Rai not only created higher values in architectural expression but also set high standards of professional ethics and peculiarly a long standing meaningful partnership that they had, which was unparallel of that time.

His humble, modest, nature combined with calm, quite and unassuming attitude with tremendous patience for listening to others had attracted large number of his admirers including students in India and abroad.

Students were his weak point.

Inspite of his uncomparable contribution to Indian Architecture, very little has been done to commemorate late Shri A.P.Kanvinde - The Indian master Architect.

So,an initiative was taken by BNCA, pune to pay tribute to Late Shri A.P. Kanvinde by organizing the following events:

1. Shri A.P.Kanvinde Memorial Lecture Series.

2. Installing "Wall Of Fame" in honour of  Late Shri A.P.Kanvinde in BNCA Library.

3. Publishing book titled as  "Achyut Kanvinde" on Shri A.P.Kanvinde.

Wall Of Fame

Kanvinde's  whole life with work philosophy is a great treasure, for us to draw inspiration from; particularly young generation of students and architects could benefit more - if Kanvinde's complete image and spirit with which he created a sensible ,beautiful architecture is projected in such events.

Under this concept "A WALL OF FAME" in honourof Shri Kanvinde was inaugurated by Ar.Balkrishna Doshi on 21st of november'09 at the BNCA library.

This "A WALL OF FAME" is a unique tribute and perhaps the first of its kind,in our profession since independence.

Book on Achyut Kanvinde

A book titled "Achyut kanvinde " was published.

The book is written with intention of commemorating a doyen of Indian Architecture respected Late Shri A.P.Kanvinde.

The book very simply unfolds Shri.Kanvinde's image, work and philosophy and will certainly inspire young minds.

The book was published by the hands of Shri Adsool - wise chancellor of Pune university.

Ar.B.V.Doshi, Dr.Anurag Kashyup, Prof Arun Ogale.were also present .

Shri A.P.Kanvinde Memorial Lecture Series

We were fortunate that none other than Shri Balkrishna Doshi - another master architect has delivered the first lecture under this series on Late Shri A.P.Kanvinde on 22nd nov'09 at Chandrashekha auditorium,IUCAA,Pune .

This idea was conceived by Prof.Arun Ogale - ROEP Cell  Head ,and was heartily supported by our principal Dr.Kashyap and all the associate faculty members and the students who have put in lot of hard work and efforts to make it a reality.

The success of this event proves that it has been an inspiration and encouragement for young minds and other colleges to organize more such events.
