BNCA is hosting an International conference on 'Healthy Cities: A Perspective on Asian concerns'. Balancing Urban Development, Environment and Health, in February 2011. The conference will include presentations by renowned International and National speakers from diverse fields related to the theme and sub-theme of the conference in addition to the peer reviewed papers of Academicians, Professionals and Students. We are expecting a gathering of approximately 700 Participants from all over the globe.

We look at the conference as a platform to bring experts from various fields related to city development as a whole in the Asian perspective. We also look at the conference where the deliberations by the experts in the field will give indicators of the health of the city and subsequent pointers for development of Healthy cities in India .This will eventually lead to Charter for Healthy cities being formulated at the end of the conference which will be submitted to Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Urban Development for further consideration and action.

In lieu of the above, the theme for this academic year for the college is 'Livable Urban Environments'

To kick start the orientation towards the theme to the students and the faculty, we are organizing a sensitization week between the 14th June to 18th June 2010. During this week long activity, panels of experts have been identified to share their knowledge with respect to relevant parameters of the theme.
